‘The price of liberty is eternal vigilance’ these powerful words form the motto of the Australian Returned Services League.
Today the WA RSL has 7883 service members and 2152 affiliate members
The 2018 Gallipoli Run is both a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our service men and women in World War 1 and a celebration of the end of the war. Australian men and women created legends that will live on the memory of others for generations around the world.
Seize this opportunity to honour the service and sacrifices of our original ANZACs and generations of service men and women who have followed to defend our values and freedom. Be part of the 2018 Gallipoli Run on Sunday 6 May, starting from Stirling Terrace outside the University, and play a physical and active role in the commemoration of those service men and women.
Competitors will have the choice of either a 5km course along the base of Mount Adelaide or 8km which tackles the steep incline along Memorial Drive before heading back along the 5km course with both finishing at Middleton Beach.
Athletics WA is a not profit organisation with all funds raised donated to WA RSL, Legacy WA and athlete development. To date, over $200 000 has been donated to WA RSL & Legacy WA.
WA RSL has a proud tradition of serving current and former members of the Australian Defence Force and its allies. Assist and care for serving and ex-serving ADF personnel and their dependants who are sick, suffering from mental illness, elderly, homeless or otherwise in need of care.
Legacy WA is dedicated to caring for the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans. Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans.
This is your opportunity to assist in the preservation of the memory, honour and records of those who suffered and died for Australia.
Once again, The Perth Mint has donated a special finishers medal to all participants of the ‘Go for 2 & 5’ Gallipoli Run Albany 2018.
